Most of us do not concretely know how or why is there the appearance of the wart, and are at peace with the fact that we just wake up one morning with this seemingly harmless growths, and we find them where they are but we are not worry about how do you get a wart.
The other thing that most of us do not know is that the warts itself are in fact a kind of a product of infections that occurs in the surface layers of the skin, caused by various viruses from the family of HPV (human papilloma virus) when contact occurs between the virus and the skin.
How do you get a wart
When the virus penetrates into the surface layer of the skin, which is mainly during the scratching, it causes a rapid growth of cells on the surface layer of the skin and leads to the formation of warts. HPV itself is ubiquitous and every one of us comes into contact with it several times during our lives, when handshaking other people, touching a doorknob, or even through the computer keyboard.
Scientists have so far identified as many as 100 types of unique mentioned viruses. And the fact is also that most people at least once in life have some form of warts, usually on the hands. It is important to know that some variations of the original HPV cause warts on the hands more often than others. Other types cause a higher probability of genital warts.
Getting warts from human contact
There are also variations that cause both these disorders at once. General conviction is that you get the wart when in touch with certain organisms originating from the animal world, and this is not true. “People actually get warts from contact with other people who already have warts, not from scabby frog”, is confirmed by all dermatologists.
They also warn that the warts are available on the items or things like towels that were previously used by someone who already has a wart. The mere chance of getting warts significantly increases if viruses come into contact with damaged skin. And cuts from shaving may also be used by viruses as a good place to start spreading the infection. This explains the fact that men tend to have warts on the chin and women on their feet.
In contrast to conventional thinking, a new Dutch study found that the most likely way that children is infected with the virus that causes warts, is through close contact with family members and classmates. Until recently, the prevailing opinion was that the conventionally warts are transmitted over public places such as swimming pools and public showers, which is not true.
The researchers concluded that encouraging children to cover their warts with bandage when swimming or to wear shoes when using public showers is not related to the primary source of infection of warts. The study authors spent 18-months of trailing the warts among 1,100 Dutch children aged 4 to 12 years old, enrolled in three different elementary schools in the city of Leiden. “Current recommendations on the prevention of warts mostly relate to public places such as swimming pools.
However, children often get warts from family members or friends, and not from the public space, which tells us to cover the warts at home or at school, which might be more helpful in preventing the spread of infection,” says lead study author Dr. Sjoerd Brugink from the section of public health and primary health care from the University medical center in Leiden. We hope this information about how how do you get a wart will help you.
